An Open Letter to the Indiana Wesleyan University Class of 2005
New Details in IWU Cold Case from 2001
Published : Saturday, October 10, 2009, 4:10 PM EDT
All of us (including most of my immediate family) know the pain of being unable to find another college or university and not able to graduate with my fellow Indiana Wesleyan University alumni in 2005, thus the agony I have experienced over the past eight years since September 27, 2001, triggering a chain of somewhat related tragic events in my family which followed within months, including the deaths of my mother in May of 2002, my ex-father-in-law in July 2002, my brother in August of 2002, and my step-grandfather in January 2003, and eventually my transition to womanhood.
This afternoon, I have learned from a would-be fellow IWU alumnus in a Facebook posting that a policy of mine that was placed immediately after Spetember 27, 2001 was ruled unconsititutional.
I was surprised by that person as it was the first time since that fateful Thursday morning in September 2001 that a fellow former Indiana Weseyan University student had a tip that would blow the cold case wide open.
Words cannot describe what impact this new development has had over the last eight years as I have been searching for another college or university to attend that suits me the best. As you all know, I have been fully cooperating with IWU since the case began on September 27, 2001..
We ask that prayers be offered for everyone affected by this development.
Sincerely,
Ava Nieves
